[...]my version of this lens was misaligned and gave pictures that were blurred on one side. The internet is awash with similar criticisms of this lens. However I've also gradually discovered that, provided it's used with a narrow enough aperture, the effect of the misalignment disappears entirely and it becomes perfectly sharp enough for me across the whole image. The lens can be used at f9, getting best results at f11. Since I normally use a tripod in low light, this is fine. Recently when I didn't have one to hand, in a dark location, I put the ISO up and hand held it at 1/5 second and got perfectly usable shots. The very wide angle obviously means slow shutter speeds can be used in any case. Another problem with the lens is that autofocus is erratic, perhaps partly because of the misalignment. But with the massive depth of field that you get from such a wide angle lens on an APS-C sensor, I soon realised there was absolutely no point using autofocus anyway. Putting manual focus as standard on 1m gives a depth of field from 32cm to infinity. So altogether, despite having a dodgy version of this lens, I've worked out how to make it perform really well and I'm perfectly happy with it. The 10mm focal length opens up fantastic new possibilities for architecture and landscape.

A super wide lens with sharp fast focusing.Quiet fast/accurate focusing.Feels solid in your hand although I wouldn't say its quite as well built as canon L range but certainly solid enough. Great for landscape and interior and commercial shots etc... No Image Stabilization is a shame but not exactly required at 10mm. Is part of sigma EX range and having owned a non Ex lens you can feel the difference.

Landscape and cityscape shoot's have came out amazingly sharp and colourfull including night shoot's of which I have used on my canon 400d and canon 7d.
I spent lot's of money on the camera's could not budget enough for a wide angle len's but I am amazed at the result's. Good value and you would be pleased with your results if you purchase the lens, if your on a budget.

I purchased this over the Tokina super wide angle lens because of the price difference although I had read the Tokina was superior. I had read various reviews about it prior to purchase and apart from some very pronounced chromatic abberation in some situations at the 10mm zoom its a decent lens. The sharpness isn't bad for a lens in this price range, the USM (Ultra sonic motors) use to auto focus the lens are fast and noiseless and a quick to acheive focus.

I've used the lens a number of times to take city scapes and I'm pleased with its performance.

Got into landscape photography last year and decided I needed a new lens. This was recommended and absolutely delighted with it. Its brought a whole new dimension to my photography beyond landscapes.

My first wide-lens. I have shooted many great seaside-pictures with this. Lens cap is about to fall with hood.

It didn't cost so much and do what I want it do, great pictures. I think, it's good to have uv-filter to keep big front-lens clean and safe.
