I purcahsed this lens for commercial property photography and I chose Sigma because I have other sigma lens's that have always performed well.

This is one of the best, its compact, solid, and provides sharp crisp images.

I purchased this lens around six weeks ago for my Nikon D3000 and have been very happy with the results thus far. The lens is very versatile when used for interior shots providing an impressive field of view. When using flash in larger rooms at the wide end of the range, the on camera flash does not provide sufficient coverage, so a more powerful flash gun will be needed.

When used for landscape / seascape shots the lens is very impressive. Good sharp images with natural colour balance. The build quality seems good, very solid. In use the lens feels well balanced and the focus and zoom controls work smoothly and feel as if they are connected to a quality mechanism.

Overall very happy with the purchase

Purchased for my son who is a keen landscape photographer and in real world use the lens is hard to fault especially at the price.

In all honesty l personally own the fixed aperture F3.5 version and unless you are being extremely picky image quality from the two lenses are near on identical.

I ordered this lens after much research and studying of others images taken with the lens, I was so impressed I took the plunge, after all I have the Sigma 18/200 lens and that is superb so I thought why not. I have been to a few locations including The London Transport Museum and I must say I was over the moon with what appeared on my Mac beautiful images, crisp and full of detail, the colours were to die for. Like my review on the Sigma 18/200 lens I am not going into all the details and techy stuff just the results I have achieved using this lens. Even though it's a lot cheaper than the Nikon it's still a considered purchase and I know if you brought this you will NOT be SORRY.

Just been cleaning my lenses (well its a wet day) and whilst doing so was reminded just how often I had used this lens over the past few years and also how good the results are. I do use it for landscapes but not that often but it is interiors that it comes into its own. Like all really wide lens you have to set up your shot to avoid odd curves and distortion but after that the creative opportunities are great. Like the colour rendering and depth of the lens with a good contrast ratio. Whilst interiors do really demand a tripod it can be used hand held for those shots with a different perspective. Well balanced on the camera and one of those lens that 'feels right' to handle. Price...well it has proved to be a bargain. It is also the only none Nikon lens in my bag and desreves its place there on quality.
