Excellent image quality and manual features
About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Comments about Sony Cyber-Shot RX100 II Digital Camera:
I am very pleased with the image quality, it allows for heavy cropping. Beware of the smaller max aperture at longer focal lengths so only good at low light at the shortest focal length
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Sony Cyber-Shot RX100II Digital Camera
from Haddeham, Bucks.
I carry it all the time since it's small enough to fit in my jacket pocket. It produces good quality pictures and has a tuition menu to tell you how to produce the pictures or effects that you might want. The lens is a sharp onebut not a long telephoto - I don't find this restrictive for how I use it.

Not as good as the first RX100
Adds a tilting screen to the original model, but for some reason the picture quality is not as good. Personally, I would forego the tilting screen in favour of the picture quality of the original RX100.
Near DSLR Replacement
I have been looking for a camera that can take fantastic images in all conditions, without the need to carry around my bulky DSLR kit, and I have to say I think I have found it, the image quality is sharp and the colours are exact.I use RAW most of the time, which allows for even greater manipulation in Post production, but the JPEG results are just superb, meaning that sharing the images through the NFC to my Sony Smartphone is a doddle. If you are looking for a first class performer look no further than this camera.

Quite simply brilliant and outstanding
I have two nikon professional DSLRs and a fuji xe2. Main things I use now for travel (which is my main use) - so priority is lightweight, picture quality and versatlity. This camera has it all - but the main reason is to take outstanding pictures. This camera does that. The Zeiss T* lens has this reassurance. The pictures are simply outstanding. The combo of large sensor (for a compact) and zeiss T* makes for an unbeatable all round solution. Many pictures I have taken with this are simply not feasible with the large Nikon or the Fuji. I am so so impressed with this. It oozes quality when you pick it up - you feel its so solid. Also unnoticeable as its so small. Love it
About Me Casual user, Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Bought this with the viewfinder as an extra as I wanted the accessory shoe which isn't available on the new version. Very pleased with the versatility, portability etc. For the last few years I've lugged my Leica on holiday with me and decided that enough was enough so bought this predominately for holiday use but it'll get a lot more use than that.
About Me Professional
Brilliant image quality, light weight and durable.
What I have been waiting for
It can be used with left hand only, as I only have limited use of my right, yet the quality of the photographs it takes is very satisfactory. Large sensor and fast lens with wide ISO range allow single handed operation in most situations. Better cameras would be too heavy for me, and changing lenses is not an option.

Just what I was looking for
By Doug - Yorkshire Wolds hiker
Use it on long walks in the hills. On comparable settings, the pictures are sharper than with my EOS60D with EFS 15-85mm in good light, and it is significantly lighter. Why did I chose it? Because it was a compact that shoots RAW as I was getting fed up of lugging a DSLR (albeit not full frame)around. Picture quality exceeded expectations and I can honestly say that every pixel counts; takes cropping very well so a short optical zoom range is not so much of a disadvantage for the majority of shots. Build quality is superb (feels and looks well made) and the traditional leather case was a bonus. Works well for wide angle astro-snaps as well. NFC works a treat.

Fantastic quality images from this camera. Went on a Disney holiday and didn't want to carry my SLR around. I wanted a compact but still wanted the ability to play with depth of field and exposure in bright scenes etc. This exceeded my expectations, I'm really impressed. I also liked being able to download the images to my phone and FB. Haven't had it long but it's all good so far !
