The Sony CS3 uses this system to allow you to track when and where your photographs have been taken. While travelling, the lightweight and compact Sony GPS-CS3 can be clipped on to your belt or bag and updates its position every few seconds. With the time on the CS3 and your camera set and synchronised you just carry on taking pictures as you normally would. The most useful feature of this device is its ability to be read as a USB drive. The format is NMEA. Battery life is, however, poor; 10 hours using a 2800mAh battery. It is quite slow to fix a location, and sometimes needs to be re-set before it works. When delivered it would not log data. Worked OK after re-formatting as FAT16.

Loaded the program up after taking shots in a few locations , then read more of the instruction book; thought I needed a degree so flung it to one side. However fired up the program and really impressed. It is intuative to use. Hence the GPS bit is backed up so well by an excellent prog. .even the instruction book now makes sense - well just. Amazing for next years hols. Grrrreat
