I bought this tripod initially for use with my Hi-Def camcorder and it proved to be perfect. Filming my nephew's wedding was made so much easier with the fast and smooth panning and tilting and great control from the remote handle. Since then I've used it extensively for stills with my Nikon DSLRs and again the smooth quick operation has proved an absolute boon. I recommend it to everyone!
