In 40+ years of using SLRs and DSLRs I have never got on with camera straps. They get in the way when I am using a camera and have limited use for carrying one. Round my neck they bounce about in front of me, over one shoulder they also get in the way and always seem ready to fall off. Over both shoulder and neck is great for carrying but makes the camera hard to use. Every camera I have had gets the supplied strap fitted - and then removed after a couple of days.My camera accompanies me when I am motorcycling around Europe so large gadget bags are hard to accommodate so I normally end up just carrying my camera in my hand and not bothering with a choice of lenses. Then along came the Spider Pro.No more cameras swinging around my neck causing discomfort and waiting to be damaged. My camera is firmly clipped to the Spider Pro bracket and comfortably sits at my waist ready for use in a couple of seconds. If it is wet it sits under my coat, and the locking clip makes the camera secure in crowds and still easy to use.The Spider Pro belt is strong and well made, long enough to cater for the most obese photographer and has a large pad for the camera to rest on. The belt buckle is the same as that used on many police equipment belts so should be pretty secure and if I want to carry a couple of extra lenses Tamrac lens cases fit on easily.Just to see how well the belt preformed I tried it with the unlikely combination of my Nikon D7000 with battery pack, 200 mm tele lens and Nikon flash. Even that lot was comfortable to carry and easy to use.If there is a downside it is the price but [$] for a belt that is carrying a couple of grand in kit is not so bad. If you use a DSLR get one of these, you won't be disappointed.

This product is a good idea, but does have limitations i.e., you cannot use a heavy lens with this product , I would use mine to photograph wildlife if it were possible, but it isn't, pity because you have to have camera and lens ready, I don't use a tripod, I track wildlife so speed is of the essence, I expect they will bring a new unit on to the scene that will work with heavy lenses after you have spent your money on the so-called pro version.

Takes all the strain off back and neck and stops your neck sweating. Also camera will not swing around hitting objects as you bend and move

I used this product for the first time for taking photos at a wedding. As I was going from one venue to another I didn't want the hassle of carrying a camera bag around - the holster was perfect! Wanted one for ages and now I've finally got one I'll never let it go! Fantastic and easy to use! Don't leave home without it!

The spider has been the best accessory I've bought all year. It does exactly what you want it to do.

Puts the camera where your hand is. Stops the d**n thing banging about your neck. Very secure. Also takes the weight very nicely.

I've tried lots of straps, including the R-Strap which many people swear by, but the holster is great.

I've used with 5D MkII and addon battery pack and flash - although that sounds heavy, it's a lot lighter on the hip than it is round the neck. Even with that bulk I'm able to keep my hand on it and avoid bumps and knocks.

In the studio it's a godsend, secure, frees up both hands - lets me fiddle with clients hair without smacking them in the face with my camera.

If your used to doing twelve hour days with two cameras and lenses you will really appreciate this system, takes one camera body and lens, i also place an assortment of lens pouches on the belt. Locking system is secure providing you don't forget to flick it into position. The ability to also attach a tripod mount makes this system a no brainer, that and the weight taken from shoulder and back.

My Spiderholster arrived today and the first impression was a well constructed, solid and reliable product. The parts fit together in seconds, attach to the camera easily and are easy to adjust.

My D3S with a 70-200 is an expensive & heavy piece of kit but I have no issue with confidence in the product which leaves my camera sitting conveniently on my hip and ready to use.

I will be using this for the first time at a wedding in two days and am looking forward to giving it a go. Sometimes you just know when a product is going to work.

Sometimes you need to use your hands and this keeps your hands free and the camera away from the front of you. I have bought pro camera straps but the problem is after a few hours they all dig in your neck and change your posture (for the worse, back pain etc) especially with bigger camera's like the Canon 1D's etc. If you want to carry two cameras it is worse with them banging against each other but with the spiderpro the cameras are secure, lower so lower centre of gravity they dont wobble about as much and spiderpro say they are bringing out a belt so you can properly carry two cameras at once instead of clipping another holster on the other side of the belt, me I use one holster but two plates, one on each camera and it works great. Any cons well i did say price but i have spent more on a camera bag thats sitting in my loft..check out all the videos on youtube of the spiderpro system
