I have used tamron lenses before with good results, however this my first extra wide. Images are sharp compose carefully to minimise barrelling.

I spent ages reading reviews, but I should have just got it. It's an excellent lens, good value, and it's a lot of fun among other things.
It's very wide angle makes for a great awareness of space in the photographs - I've been using it to make stereoscopic pairs of photos, which is a dramatic way to show the space in a scene.
Also valuable for photographing sculpture, again because it emphasises 3D qualities.
I'm delighted with it...

Good value, versatile lens!.......The optical quality on this is good, this is perhaps my favourite lens, can produce excellent (and interesting!) images.

This is definately my new favourite lens. If I'm going out locally on a walkabout this would be my first choice. With enough focal length to cover all my wide angle needs and also some landscapes. Others have complained about loss of sharpness and I've only really ever noticed this when pointing almost directly into sunshine. The autofocus motor is a little noisy but really not worth complaining about in the grand scheme of things.

All in all an excellent lens and for the price one I'm glad to have in my kit bag.
