I use this product for shooting surf. I use it in a water housing, and the results have been brilliant. Image quality is excellent. The only thing is that it doesn't perform just as well in very poor light conditions, but who wants to shoot then anyway!? A must have, and becoming increasingly hard to get your hands on, so if your thinking about it, don't hesitate.

I have been using this lens for about two years now and I love it to bits. I originally bought it for specialist work (making 360 degree panoramas for the web) so sharpness and quaility was less important to me than price and the fact is was a genuine full frame effect on my Canon 350D. However, despite this being considered a budget lens by mainstream reviews, the quality looks really very good and sharp to my eyes. Fully zoomed out this gives a 180 degree view so the potential for creative shots is immense, although please note you do get quite "bendy" images (straight lines turn into curves). Turned to do portrait photos however if you get any critical lines (horizon) in the very middle of the shot, depending on the subject sometimes the distortion is less obvious although of course you might want this intentionally so it looks fish eye. Zoomed right in, it performs as a very wide angle lens with much less distortion, which is easier de-fish later in Photoshop anyway. So in fact I have found that rather than just specialist work this has become a regular on my camera, in fact I would not consider doing outside shots without it. One other good thing, for indoor shots this is amazing, no more struggling to get a room into view or wondering why a fantasic looking room or interior looks rubbish on your normal lens, this really can get a whole room in the frame. Build quality, to me, seems very good, autofocus is very quick. The end is threaded too so you can attach a filter however the front of the glass is curved so it is a bit limited and they creep into the edges of shot at the widest angle. Overall, this has turned out to be a very versatile lens.
