Sharp and easy to use

About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Comments about Tokina 100mm f2.8 AT-X Macro Lens - Nikon Fit:
I use this lens mainly for macro work and occasional portrait shots. It is very sharp, sharper than the 105mm macro camera brand lens I owned previously. The lens is well built and easily switched between manual and auto focus. The only negatives are that it does not have vibration reduction (I use a tripod for macro and would switch off VR anyway) and it has a little chromatic aberation, which is easily rectified in editing software. This is my second Tokina lens and it won't be my last.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Does the job just right
About Me Professional
Really pleased with this lens, and at the price it's even more pleasing. Very sharp output.I've mostly used it with a Nikon D800 for macro work and also for some street photography. In the latter autofocus has been fine but I haven't tested it wih really fast-moving subjects. For macro I have - naturally - been using manual focus and the smooth focus action and crisp viewfinder image are a great help. I like the very easy push-pull switching from AF to MF operation as well. All in all can't really find fault with this lens.

superb Tokina , a beauty in its class
from Southall Middlesex
I was thinking to buy the Nikon 105 Macro then I found this on the wex photographic web sit and it felt to me that this will be better than the Nikon because it was a little cheaper than the Nikon and it looked to me that it is more rugged asnd strong build. All the reveies were praising it as well. So I bought this one on next day delivery. Since then it is one of my favourite one. I highly recomend to everyone who loves photography.

My second Tokina lens and I am not disappointed. Razor sharp. Excels at Macro work and also a good portrait lens.

It's heavy but that's outweighed by the fact it contains a lot. So - ideal lens.
