This pack of 12 Visible Dust Orange Vswabs for use with the 1.0x Sensor features a double layer of high absorbency fabric, which is super soft and made of super thin fibres. Used in cleaning the delicate surfaces of equipment such as space telescopes, the swab fabric is woven to be non-shedding. Its high absorbency capacity makes it ideal for the surface cleaning of delicate optics. The fabric has also a patented folding design that creates a softer edge compared to a hot sealing process. Compatible with VDust Plus and Smear Away, the patented mini-channel, with contour, provides an even saturation of the paddles surface while preventing pooling and vertical flow at the edge. This reduces the irritating streaking effect associated with traditional flat surface paddles. The mini-channels also provide the extra reservoir to absorb the excessive liquid and prolonging the moisture life of the swab during the cleaning process.

From what I could tell online these got the best reviews out of any of the wet-based cleaning items. However whilst they remove the larger items on your sensor, its what they leave behind that disappointed me. If you use too much liquid it dries as very obvious spots; too little liquid and you have visible smears. Despite using the recommended liquid and, in the end, all the swabs I never got a sensor I was even vaguely happy with. So having wasted [$] on the swabs and liquid, I'll be paying more for Canon to do it properly

I do find that no matter what, camera's can pick up a few or a lot of dust spots and sometimes the blower just can't shift them.
I have tried some of the cheaper brushes because of the cost but i had to come back to these for a few reasons, one being i find them the best.
The plastic part of the brush head is of the right size and flexibility to allow you to feel the brush moving over the entire low pass filter that protects the sensor.
The material covering the brush which does the cleaning doesn't leave any lint behind.
Please use the right fluid with the brushes and read the instructions before use, it's not really scary, it's just that you can scratch the filter and sometimes dirty the filter even more if you don't do it correctly.
If you do smudge it though (which can happen from the oil in the mech), just throw the swab away a do it again.
I find the a nice led torch helps to detect spots, the bathroom after a shower seems to have the least amount of dust in the house and use the right fluid for cleaning the filter.

i had my camera sensor cleaned at [...] cost £40 swabs and vdust plus cost [$] i will get 12 cleans so worth £480!
