The Visible Dust Arctic Butterfly 788 with Light sensor makes cleaning easier and safer. The built-in light illuminates the sensor while cleaning, reducing the possibility of fibres being dragged accidentally against the surrounding cavity. This in turn reduces smearing of the sensor caused by contaminated fibres. The Arctic Butterfly's rotary engine has been modified to generate an optimal centrifugal force that enables speedy dust rejection while increasing the charge enhancement of the fibres. Other design improvements include implementing nano-coating technology for charge enhancement and using super thin fibres for maximum lift capability. Because of its safety features, all models of Arctic Butterfly can be safely used on ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) coated sensor and DLSRs with built in sensor cleaning systems. More
The ideal dry sensor cleaning solution!
The Arctic Butterfly Sensor Brush is the only way to go when it comes to 'dry' cleaning your digital sensor. In just minutes you can safely go from shooting pictures with 'sun spots' to crystal clear images. With its ease of use and excellent quality results, you might soon wonder how you ever lived without it! The Arctic Butterfly Sensor Brush comes with a sleek case. Requires one AAA battery (not included).
IMPORTANT! If you own a Canon 1D (any version), Canon 1Ds (any version) or the Canon 5D (any version), please read this:
Digital SLR cameras contain mechanical parts: shutters, mirror complexes that move very quickly every time a picture is taken, causing friction. To reduce heat and wear, manufactures use various types of lubricants and oils on these parts. Some of these lubricants may splash onto the camera chamber area or onto the sensor itself. When cleaning the sensor with an Arctic Butterfly care must be taken not to come into contact with the chamber walls, contaminating the bristles and smearing it onto the sensor. It is also possible to smear a droplet of oil that has already landed on the sensor. For smears Visible Dust reccomend using their Smear Away fluid and appropriate swabs.

Fine product - but D600 owners beware!
About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Comments about Visible Dust Arctic Butterfly 788 (With Light):
Bought this to remove a couple of staticy objects on the sensor of my D600. It removed the offending articles nicely but to my horror it managed to smear the sensor with a deposit of shutter lubricant that had evidently been sitting in the bottom left corner. Anyway now I need to order a bottle of brush cleaner to de-contaminate the bristles before I can use this clever little tool on my D700. Not an argument against the Arctic Butterfly, obviously, but owners of D600s blighted by the now infamous oil spots fiasco should proceed with caution when brushing their own sensors.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Dust spots on D600
from North of England
My D600 had dust spots after 6 months use and I was reluctant to send it to Nikon for cleaning but also reluctant to use a wet sensor cleaning system. I was confident I could do delicate procedures but nervous of exposing the sensor. However it was not too difficult and removed 90% of spots, so I am satisfied. Now it is interesting that Nikon have just announced the forthcoming D610!
Its a lot of money but then again cleaning your sensor do you want cheap? It cleared my sensor of dust first time, looks like it will last many years so I'd say its been a good investment.
don't look at the price buy it

About Me Professional
Thought it might be another one of those gadgets that it's hype was over stated, it's so simple and quick, dust gets attracted to the static build up after spinning the brush, glad I bought it.d
Works pretty well
I had one before that died when the battery leaked. The previous one worked well, which is why I replaced it.The only annoying thing is that after use you slide the brush into a tube for storage. It's quite easy for a fibre to splay out at this point. I get round it by fitting a paper collar that slides up and keeps the fibres together
Simple to use, and does the job well.
Like most people, I've always been nervous about cleaning the sensor of my camera, and I've preferred using air blowers up until now. However, the Arctic Butterfly has made sensor cleaning a very simple job.It only took a couple of swipes with the brush to remove a couple of really stubborn dust particles that had been clinging to my sensor for months. The unit feels very well built, and is nicely balanced in the hand.Care must be taken not to apply too much pressure to the sensor, but the brush is both soft enough and long enough keep the sharper parts of the unit away from the sensor. It's a great product that I can't recommend highly enough.
Perfect for the Job

Was a wee bit nervous the first time I used the brush. However, as long as you are cautious and careful, there is nothing to worry about!

Essential product for anyone using a DSL
Suffering from an increadably dust riddled sensor and only two days until an important shoot, I took the plunge and invested in this item.Although I thought initially a little expensive, I figured I would recoupe the money within two professional cleans and without the need for being without my camera. Cleaned the sensor within a couple of minutes with no problems. Now it is always at hand in the studio and part of my cleaning procedure.I think for more stubborn marks it may still need a wet clean or sending to a specialist for a professional clean.

Worked a treat
By Adam Seward
AB 788 just arrived this morning. One swipe, and it removed the dust speck that has been clinging to my sensor despite auto sensor cleaning and some attempts with a blower brush. Wish I had it on my recent trip abroad - would have saved a lot of time I now have to spend cloning out one annoying dust spot from hundreds of images! Quite a lot of money, but cheaper than sending my camera off for a sensor clean - plus I get to take it on my travels.
