Bringing brilliance to your subjects, Canon's MR-14EX II Macro Ring Lite enhances the capabilities and features of the much-lauded previous model, providing the macro photographer with a powerful tool for properly illuminating subject matter and creating the perfect image. This improved model of the Ring Lite utilises more powerful, high-output LED modelling lamps, recycle time has been reduced to 5.5 seconds, and it has been engineered to be quieter in operation, so as not to disturb any little critters who might be modelling for you. Additionally, the dual flash tubes are independently variable over six stops, enabling you to control and modify frontal lighting in much the same way as a portrait photographer would tune the output of a pair of lighting heads. As a final flourish, Canon have modified and upgraded the control system to enable operation of flash functions both via the Ring Lite's controls and through your camera, increasing the overall ease-of-use. Requires optional adapters to fit to lens.
The Key Features of the MR-14EX II
- Ring-flash design for versatile lighting when shooting close-up
- E-TTL II Auto Flash metering
- Guide Number of 14
- Can act as a wireless master flash
- Two flash tubes that can be fired as one or independently with full ratio control
- Quick and easy to use: controllable from camera or flash
- Two focusing lights
- Modelling flash capability
- Mounts to the front of macro lenses with optional adapters
Creative close-up flash photography
A ring-flash design allows uniform lighting of small subjects – ideal for wildlife photographers shooting flowers and insects, and those working in specialist scientific applications. E-TTL II metering makes accurate flash exposures simple.
Creative shadow control
Dual flash tubes can be varied independently, over a six-stop ratio, permitting different lighting styles. Use both tubes evenly for a shadowless effect, or make one tube brighter than the other for relief lighting that emphasises textures. The Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II’s flash head can be rotated around the lens, allowing the dominant light source to come from any angle.
High power output, with a guide number of 14 (ISO 100, m), allows the use of small apertures for maximum depth of field when shooting up close. Colour-temperature information is transmitted back to the camera during shooting, helping to optimise auto white balance.
Integrates with other flashes
The Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II can be used as an optical wireless master in a multi-flash lighting set-up, triggering Speedlite flashes set to slave mode. This is useful when using a second flash to illuminate a background, for example.
Innovative, instinctive design
Control the Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II using controls on your EOS camera, or via an easy-to-read dot matrix display. A bright LED modelling lamp makes focusing and composition easier in low light, while custom settings allow functions to be personalised to suit your own way of working.
Reliable performance you can count on

Fast, silent recycling ensures that you’ll be ready to shoot at just the right time. The Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II is ready to fire again in just 5.5 sec following a full-power discharge. A self-cleaning hot-shoe with two-line electronic transmission ensures a proper connection with your camera.

Can I repay early? If so how?
No repayments are scheduled in the initial six-month deferral period. However, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, but a £29.00 early-settlement will be incurred. Such repayments may be made to Barclays Partner Finance by cheque, debit card or standing order. Unfortunately it is not possible to set up a direct debit within the deferral period. Further information on how to make such repayments will be set out in the loan agreement pack provided by Barclays Partner Finance.
What happens if I don't repay within the first six months (deferral period)?
Following the six month deferral period, Barclays Partner Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan. Interest will be charged at a rate of 19.9% APR on outstanding balances (backdated to the first date of the loan). Late payment penalties and early repayment charges will apply from this point. Barclays Partner Finance will send a reminder letter approximately one month before the six month deferral period is due to elapse. Note: If you chose to spread the cost and pay monthly, interest is charged from the start of the loan, not from the start of the repayment period.
What will I receive from the finance provider (lender)?
Barclays Partner Finance will send a loan agreement pack approximately four weeks after delivery of the goods, confirming that the account has been activated and, from this point, it is possible to make repayments against the loan.
