Weighing in at 2.15kg, the Gitzo GT4552TS Series 4 6X Systematic Tripod can hold a maximum load of 25,000g and is designed to be used with the heavier cameras and lenses up to 500mm. The Systematic Series 4 gives solid support and torsion rigidity and is available in 3- or 4- section models, each in either standard or long versions. The GT4552TS is able to crouch down to a minimum height of 8.5cm, extend to a height of 134cm and close down to a length of 48.5cm. NOTE: Carbon fibre is now used on all Systematic 4 tripods, replacing previous aluminium versions.
Features of the Gitzo GT4552TS Series 4 6X Systematic Tripod
G-Lock is the new Gitzo leg locking system. The locking mechanism has been completely redesigned in order to achieve a 20% increase in rigidity, faster operation and stronger, safer locking. G-Lock's special design also provides a 'gravity lock' effect: the higher the load applied vertically to the leg, the stronger the lock.
This built-in accessory allows you to hang a stabilizing weight (e.g. a full camera bag or a sand/water bag) from the bottom of the tripod centre column. Useful with long/heavy lenses, on uneven ground or in windy conditions.
All tripods and monopods in Series 1 and above are provided with removable rubber feet. This feature allows you to easily change worn out rubber feet or to fit other accessories, such as spiked feet or snow/sand shoes. (4 sections tripods in Series 1 are excluded because the final leg section is too narrow to fit these ends
ALR - Anti Leg Rotation
We have introduced a new Anti Leg Rotation system, which means the tripod can be opened in less than 15 seconds. Simply loosen all the twist locks on each leg at the same time, then pull the leg down and tighten the locks individually.

A little bit about the Gitzo Systematic Tripods
Gitzo Systematic tripods are the strongest and most stable tripods available in the market and offer unsurpassed flexibility of use. These tripods are a unique modular system that can be quickly transformed into different configurations. The same tripod can serve both as a video and a photographic support. A wide selection of accessories allow you to keep growing your system according to your future needs, for still life, macro, outdoor, sport and wildlife applications. Systematic tripods are available in 6X carbon fibre and aluminium tubing. Aluminium tripods (Series 5 excluded) have been completely redesigned and upgraded to the same features of 6X carbon fibre models. Aluminium Systematic are now faster, lighter and more stable. A key innovation is the use of Gitzo latest aluminium tube1.2mm wall thick, 30% lighter than its predecessor, with Anti Leg Rotation system (ALR) and brushed matt black finish for improved locking performance and minimised reflectivity. Thanks to ALR, Aluminium Systematic tripods are now as fast to operate as the 6X carbon fibre versions. A part from the tubing, aluminium and Carbon Fibre systematic tripods now share the same features: G-Lock, removable self locking feet, three leg spreads and new upper platforms. These new platforms allow for a more solid connection of the head and reduced vibrations thanks to the safe lock techno polymer disc and a locking screw for the head.
