Equipped with multi-layer HD coating, the Pentax 20-40mm lens reduces reflectance in the visible light spectrum and ensures crisp, high-contrast images with minimal flare and ghosting, even under demanding light conditions. This Limited Series lens with weather-resistant construction features seven special seals to prevent intrusion of water, moisture and dust. Its large F2.8-4 aperture and rounded diaphragm blades produce stunning bokeh and the direct current (DC) focus motor provides quiet and smooth autofocus.
The Key Features
With its two-times zoom coverage from 20mm to 40mm, this lens offers focal length coverage from 30.5 to 61.5mm in the 35mm format when mounted on a PENTAX K-series DSLR, providing the most frequently used focal lengths for a variety of subjects settings and creative perspectives in a Limited Series lens.
This lens has been treated with the PENTAX-developed HD coating, a high grade, multi-layer coating that reduces reflectance in the visible light spectrum to less than 50 percent of that of conventional multi-layer coatings, allowing the user to capture crisp, high-contrast images free of flare and ghosting, even under demanding lighting conditions.
The first lens of the Limited Lens series to feature the PENTAX-original weather-resistant construction. With seven special seals to prevent intrusion of water, moisture and dust, depend on this lens in any shooting condition, rain or shine.
The PENTAX-original Quick-Shift Focus System allows instant switching from autofocus to manual focus operation.
The lens barrel, hood and cap are made of a high-grade aluminum material, and hand-machined for perfect proportions and beautiful texture. Positioned in the mid-section of the lens barrel, the zoom ring features a series of knurled grooves to facilitate zooming operation. Like all of the Limited Series lenses, this lens is available in a sleek silver or classic black.
Shoot discreetly with in-lens, direct current (DC) Auto Focus motor operation for smooth & quiet performance.
The ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and a super-low dispersion glass element in this lens's optics deliver clear, high resolution imagery with edge-to-edge sharpness, throughout the entire zoom range.
Enhanced with a rounded diaphragm at a wide apertures for optimal optical performance and gorgeous bokeh effects.
The PENTAX-original SP (Super Protect) coating repels dust, water and grease to keep your lens clean and your image quality at its peak.
