Is the battery safe for air travel?

The Profoto Li-Ion Battery is UN-certified and safe for air travel with a Watt-hour rating of 21.6Wh. To carry the batteries individually, the terminals should be taped to prevent short circuits of the batteries. If the battery is installed in equipment, it should be packaged carefully so that it won’t accidentally turn on during the flight. If the batteries are damaged or defective, they are forbidden for air travel.

How can you read the battery status?

There is a battery status indicator on the display that indicates the battery level in sections. 3 sections mean approximately 70-100%, 2 sections mean 40-70%, 1 section means 10-40% and if the indicator is blinking, the power level is below 10%.

How much time does it take for the battery to fully charge?

The battery should be fully charged before use, although it can be charged even while in use. It takes about one hour for the battery to be charged with either the Profoto Battery Charger 2.8A or the Profoto Car Charger 1.8A.
