EOS Adventure
Eleven years ago Canon launched the EOS range in the UK. Since then, the series has gone from strength to strength, leading the market with a number of firsts, most recently the EOS 5D II which broke new ground in creating the DSLR Video market and lead to the production of the EOS C range of Video cameras.
Today the EOS range can be viewed as suiting three main camera classes accompanied by the EOS Accessories range.

Mid Level Cameras

Pro Level Cameras
The long-awaited Canon 5D Mark III follows on from the highly specified Canon 5D Mark II but with the addition of a few new, much needed enhancements.
The Canon EOS 1D X Digital SLR is the next generation of Canon's professional range which sits above the 1D Mk IV and 1Ds Mk III, offering outstanding image quality.
Canon EOS Speedlite
Despite the diminutive size, the Speedlite 270EX II has plenty of power, with a guide number of 27 (m, ISO100) allowing long-range flash photography.
The Speedlite 320EX has a Guide Number of 32 (m, ISO 100) giving it enough power to illuminate large areas and distant subjects.
The Canon 430 EX II features a 20% reduced recycling time, which is silent to minimise any distraction caused to the photographer.
Different Uses of Flash
Many of the EOS DSLRs come equipped with a built-in flash unit. These are particularly useful for filling in the shadows of backlit subjects.
Using a Speedlite flash with the flash shoe provided on the camera gives you more power than the built-in flash and allows you to experiment with bouncing light indirectly onto the subject for subtler, softer, even shadowless lighting effects.
An entire new world of lighting effects is opened up with the facility to wirelessly control a flash unit placed remotely from the camera, or even several flash units simultaneously.

History
The company that we know today as Canon started in the 1930's when a group of scientists decided to make their presence know in the field of camera technology and created Japan's first 35mm focal plane-shutter camera prototype, know as 'The Kwanon'. Their success grew and they became known in the UK in 1976. Eleven years later they introduced the EOS System (Electro Optical System, also the name of a goddess of the dawn), establishing the Canon Foundation.
Canon has since become a household name, popular worldwide for its originality, style and reliability. Today Canon is a world-leading innovator and provider of imaging and information technology solutions for the home and office.
