The Beginners Guide to Lighting will appeal to any photographer who wants to shoot portraiture.
What will I learn?
During the day, you will learn a great deal about using flash including how it works, what power is best for you, and which accessories create the right balance for high key and low key photography.
What do I need to bring?
Steve will bring along everything you need, so all you need to bring is your camera bag.
What equipment will Steve be using?
Steve will use the latest Bowens range of heads and a wide range of key accessories.
What is the format for the day?
Steve breaks the day up into four parts, starting with a quick look at how and why flash works. From there the next three sessions will all be practical, as Steve builds various lighting set ups to show you how to light head & shoulders, full length, high key and low key portraiture.
The Venue - Wex Photographic Offices
The Beginners Guide to Lighting will be held in our offices at 13 Frensham Road, Norwich. Please note that this is not where our showroom is. For details on how to get there, see the link below.
This event is a little different to Steve’s normal lighting seminars as proceeds from the seminar will be going to charity. In May 2010 two Wex Photographic employees, Ben Weeks and Daniel McMahon, are embarking upon a trek along the Inca Trail in Peru. The aim of the trek is to raise as much money as possible for the British Heart Foundation and in the spirit of this Steve has very generously offered to contribute his fee for the seminar to the cause. Consequently we have decided to hold the event at our offices to remove the cost of hiring a venue, the usual cost of which we will also donate to Ben and Daniel’s fundraising pot.
Our offices do not have the same facilities as the normal venues we choose for Steve’s seminars, so we are not able to provide lunch on the day. As a result we have dropped the price to £130 and ask you, in the spirit of Steve’s generosity to Ben and Daniel, to bring your own lunch. Tea, coffee, juice, water and biscuits will be freely available throughout the day.
The Beginners Guide to Lighting is just £130 for the full day session. This fantastic price includes a £25 Wex Photographic voucher and refreshments.
The Beginners Guide to Lighting takes place on Saturday 21st November 2009, starting at 9.45am and finishing at 4.00pm.
Note: Once your booking is confirmed, please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you need disabled access or have any dietary requirements.
