The Canon EOS 700D with 18-55mm IS STM lens holds onto the same high-level of specification and features that made the 650D so popular and responsive, such as the 18 megapixel APS-C Hybrid CMOS sensor, intuitive 3.0" vari-angle LCD touch screen, DIGIC 5 processor, 9-point AF system and the ability to record full HD 1080p (30p) movies with stereo sound. Externally, the 700D comes with a few physical enhancements - an improved outer body finish, a 360 degree mode dial and the ability to preview Creative Filters in real-time when using Live View mode. What’s more, the camera offers 5fps continuous shooting, an optical viewfinder with 95% coverage, an ISO range of 100-12800 (extendable to 25600) and a built-in flash. The Canon EOS 700D brings the power and ease-of-use straight to your fingertips in a lightweight body that’s portable, yet solid in the hands. More

Superb image quality
Capture every detail with an 18-megapixel Hybrid CMOS AF sensor. The EOS 700D produces low-noise images that can be printed at large sizes or cropped for alternative compositions.
Produce Full HD movie projects
Shoot video at 1080p resolution, enjoying the right level of automatic or manual control for you. Hybrid AF technology enables continuous focusing when shooting video, and the EOS 700D supports near-silent Movie Servo AF with compatible STM lenses. Record stereo sound with a built-in or external microphone.
Keep up with fast moving action
Track moving subjects even if they move across the scene with an autofocus system comprising 9 cross-type AF points. Continuous shooting at 5 fps for bursts of up to 22 shots means you’ll never miss that decisive moment.
Explore new angles
Compose photos and movies from new and interesting angles using the EOS 700D’s Vari-angle 7.7cm (3.0”) 3:2 ratio Clear View LCD II Touch screen. Shoot over the top of crowds, or go for a dramatic ground-level viewpoint.
The EOS 700D is easy to use from the moment you first pick it up. Shoot and focus with a single tap of the camera’s touch screen, and use pinch and swipe gestures to navigate when reviewing images.
Scene Intelligent Auto
Shoot great pictures easily. Canon’s Scene Intelligent Auto mode analyses the scene and selects the most appropriate cameras settings automatically.
Taking your next creative steps
Choose from and preview a range of Creative filter effects, including Grainy Black & White, Toy Camera and Miniature effect. Theme-based scene modes automatically pick the right settings for the subject being photographed, while Creative Auto mode offers more control over factors like background blur, via an intuitive interface.
Take complete control
When you’re ready to advance your photography choose to Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority or Manual mode for complete control over your images.
Take great pictures even in low light, shooting without flash to capture the true ambience of an occasion. The EOS 700D features an ISO sensitivity range of ISO 100-12800 (extendable to ISO 25600).
Great results in difficult conditions
HDR Backlight Control mode captures three different exposures and combines them into one, retaining shadow and highlight detail. The EOS 700D’s Hand Held Night Scene mode captures multiple images at fast shutter speeds and blends them together for a blur-free result.
Explore with the EOS System
Take your photography further with an extensive range of lenses, accessories and flashes that make up the EOS System.
The Canon 18-55mm f3.6-5.6 IS STM Lens is a standard zoom lens featuring Canon’s STM (stepping motor) design, to ensure fast, accurate and more importantly quiet operation. With a focal length of 29-88mm in 35mm format, the lens’ wide zoom range is suitable for most general photography. For close-up work, the working distance is just 0.25m (25cm) throughout the zoom range. The lightweight and compact construction with aluminium exterior makes it extremely portable for travel photography. The built-in Image Stabilisation reduces camera shake and blur and allows shooting at shutter speeds up to four stops slower than normal. This EF-S lens is designed for Canon’s EOS cropped sensor cameras.
Canon's STM lenses
Canon's new line of STM (stepping motor) lenses are specifically designed for shooting video with the camera's Movie Servo AF mode. The STM lenses have been released alongside the Canon EOS 650D, 700D and 100D and are designed to work with the cameras AF (autofocus) system so that they're fast, accurate and silent. The result is a movie that sounds professional without the sound of the noisy AF motor in the background.

This is my first DSLR (having had a manual focus film SLR for 14 years). I chose the 700D for the great range of controls and features it offers, and it fulfils my expectations. The only issue I had was with the supplied manual, which I found much too wordy, and it only explained "how" to use particular functions! It said nothing about "why" you might use one feature rather than another at a given time. But I got hold of David Taylor's "Expanded Guide" to the EOS 700D, which was excellent - easy to read, and told me almost everything I thought I needed to know about using the camera. So in summery; great camera, but don't depend on the supplied manual to learn how to use it! Get one of the many other guides available.
Amazing camera for anyone
I use my canon 700D for equestrian photography, which requires a fast shutter speed to allow the images to appear crisp and not blurred. The amazingly fast sport mode setting on the camera allows you to do this. It's so easy and simple, yet the images which I have produced are of outstanding quality. A photographer once said to me "the best images are the ones that do not need editing" and I can honestly say that 95% of my images are totally unedited, and yet my clients love them. It is a great camera for new photographers starting out for the first time, however there is still the setting to allow experienced photographers to have full control. The touch screen and rotatable screen is great for taking selfies and group videos, and is also useful for vlogging. I have reccomended this camera to everyone, and it is worth every penny.

canon EOS D700
the main complaint I have about this camera is that the LCD screen cannot be viewed in sunlight at all. this is unbelievable that canon can make and sell a camera with LCD screen on it that cannot be viewed in sunlight, does canon not test their cameras out before selling them to the public?????? And I feel that this camera needs to have a more chunkier body. to give good hand grip.
Megga birthday present
This camera is excellent and at a very good price, you can simply use full auto which is basically point and press. However on e you get into the many modes of operation this excellent camera, brings your photography to life. I am very impressed with it.
Very good camera
Read the reviews on line and other users and I am pleased to purchase the camera

Lots of features fairly easy to use and love the touch screen.Once you know the funcions this camera gives great results.Has HDR but only in jpeg i prefer to do multiple exposures and combine in photoshop. There is some minor niggles main one being you switch on manually and can accidently leave turned on.Overall one of the best mid priced cameras.

Canon EOS 700D - Fantastic, enough said

About Me Casual user, Hobbyist/Enthusiast
I've had digital cameras for around 8 years now, they've always been Canon. This 700D was to replace my aging (yet still perfect 300D .... 5M Pixel just doesn't cut it these days).Bought it just before Christmas and probably taken around 600 photos since, mainly family and testing various features and functions.I purchased a couple of Sandisk Extreme 32GB Class 10 SD cards too, and combined with the camera processing speed the images capture and transfer rates are blinding. With the SD card plugged into a USB3 reader I can download around 300 pics to my PC in about 10seconds !!The camera does seem to be a little lighter than my older 300D, but I purchased an aftermarket twin battery pack to give it the extra weight and feel I wanted ... plus double the battery life.I also bought an Yongnuo YN565 flash, which combined with the Canon colour repoduction and speed are a great match, obviously the Canon can snap away at 5fps but the flash can just about cope perhaps with 2fps, but its worth waiting for the flash to be ready when called for, plus the Easy Wireless function between the 2 is simpley perfect.Overall an excellent camera ... some call it a budget or entry model, but not sure which part of £500+ is an entry price, so unless you're an absolute perfectionist, professional or just loaded, there's no reason to move up the range.

About Me Getting started
This was an upgrade from an EOS350 and it's certainly transformed my enjoyment. The video feature is a great addition and I'm getting full use of the sport features for taking images of wildlife.
