The EOS M boasts a large 18MP APS-C sized sensor, a DIGIC 5 processor and a wide ISO range of 100-25,600. With these technologies combined, the EOS M offers outstanding image quality on par with a DSLR in a compact and lightweight body. The EOS M is also capable of shooting full 1080p HD movies with stereo sound and full manual control of exposure and frame rates of 30, 25 and 24fps. Other features include the ability to capture fast-moving action at speeds up to 4.3fps, an intuitive 3.0" Touch screen, a 31-point Hybrid AF System and the option to use Canon’s full range of EF and EF-S lenses thanks to the Mount Adapter EF-EOS M (included). June 2013 - The last few years have played host to arguably the most significant development in the digital camera market yet – that is, the introduction of the Compact System Camera (CSC). What began as an interesting idea aimed at miniaturising the DSLR has flourished into an entirely new camera sector, one that’s slowly welcomed more manufacturers – and with it, a variety of new systems.

Compact design. Superb image quality
Capture images that are packed with clarity and colour and can be printed at sizes up to A2 in amazing detail. An APS-C sized 18-megapixel sensor is of the same dimensions as those used in EOS DSLRs, and offers the same superb image quality.
The right settings every time
As you compose a photograph with the EOS M, the camera’s Scene Intelligent Auto technology analyses the subject too, evaluating colour, brightness, movement and even detecting the presence of people. This information is used to pick the most appropriate camera settings, giving you the best possible results.
The freedom to express yourself
An EOS that delivers the quality of a DSLR in the compact body of a camera you can take everywhere. Change your EF-M lens and change your point of view, and enjoy the support of the EF and EF-S lens range too with an optional mount adaptor EF-EOS M.
Creativity the easy way
Create beautiful images, using smooth out-of-focus backgrounds for a professional look with impact. Achieve advanced creative effects quickly and simply with easy-to-use controls.
Easy to use. Great results
Straightforward controls are quick and easy to use, so you’ll always be ready to express yourself. A touch-sensitive 7.7cm (3”) Clear View II LCD screen offers intuitive control over menu functions, and the ability to focus and shoot with a single tap.
Atmospheric photos in low light
The EOS M keeps performing at its best, even when light levels get low. Hybrid autofocus ensures pin-sharp photographs and evaluative exposure metering picks the most appropriate shutter speed and aperture. Shoot hand-held pictures in low-light conditions without using flash or a tripod, thanks to a maximum sensitivity of ISO 12,800 (expandable to ISO 25,600).
Shoot Full-HD video using the same camera you use for still photography. Enjoy superb image quality, even in low light, and explore new creative approaches, such as shallow focus. Enhance your movie footage with Video Snapshot. Shoot a series of short clips of 2, 4, or 8 sec in length, edit them, and play them together as a video slideshow in a single movie file.
The Canon EF-M 22mm f2 STM Lens is a pancake lens designed for use with the Canon EOS M compact system camera. This EF-M Mount lens is a great travel lens ideal for a wide range of subjects and offers a maximum f/2.0 aperture to ensure stills and movies can be captured handheld even in low light. Whether you’re shooting landscapes or portraits, the Canon 22mm lens is a great all-around travel companion and features a minimum focusing distance of 0.15m. Focusing is smooth and quiet with Movie Servo AF, which uses STM stepping-motor technology, a great incentive for video enthusiasts looking to capture professional looking videos. This fast, pancake lens is extremely light and compact yet still provides you with the high-performance and image quality you would expect a Canon lens to produce.
The Canon Speedlite 90EX is a lightweight, compact flash designed for users of Canon's EOS M digital camera that delivers superbly lit portraits, indoor scenes and creative lighting effects. The Speedlite 90EX has a Maximum Guide Number of 9 (m, ISO 100) and is a quick, discreet and fully automatic flash for shooting with fast, silent recycle times. Its compact design means it will find a space even in the smallest of kit bags and the Speedlite 90EX is easily powered with readily available AAA batteries (not included). The small and simple Canon Speedlite 90EX is the ideal companion to the EOS M.
The Canon EF-EOS M Mount Adapter is for the Canon EOS M Digital Camera and allows attachment for the full range of Canon EF and EF-S lenses.

Nice camera - overpriced at time of sale

Comments about Canon EOS M Black Digital Camera with 22mm f2 Lens and EF Adapter:
Very nice camera in terms of portability and picture quality, particularly with the 22mm pancake lens supplied in this package. As soon as I purchased it Wex lowered the price by £80 so it's now a bargain for others. Maybe my purchase reminded them that they had a lot left in stock!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Brilliant EOS M
By Tennis Nick
I use this a compact, easy to carry camera and with the adapter for my other EF lenses I can achieve really good results for something so small. Although the image quality doesn't match up to my 5DMK3 it's not far short when used in the right way.

About Me Professional
Very impressed, especially at the price. Reviews online are very mixed, depending on who is using it and what for, plus early (apparently) issues with autofocus speed (since firmware resolved). I've experienced no problems with speed for my use = general walkabout and travel, using the wider 11-22 lens. I've been stunned with the quality of the image alongside my 5diii; you can tell the difference, but on a well exposed image this is slight. In fact, I bought a second kit as the lowest cost means of getting a different lens, adaptor and spare battery with a spare body thrown in.
Good little portable but...

Well-built, robust EOS camera more suited to point and shoot than as an EOS replacement. The LCD screen is impossible to see in sunlight, which makes framing, accessing controls and viewing camera settings next to impossible under sunny conditions. Output quality is very high and the camera has nearly all of the useful EOS functions along with picture styles and effects that make it a nice point and shoot (assuming you can see what you're shooting).I was hoping that by buying a mirror-less EOS camera, I would get the flexibility to use my existing EOS lenses but, in real life they make the camera bulky and difficult to hold so I only use it with EOS M lenses. If I were to buy again, I'd give up the option to add EOS lenses and buy an alternative mirror-less camera with an electronic viewfinder. Unfortunately, Cannon don't yet have this option.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
canon eos m black digital with 22mm lens
a useful general camera to keep with you, and a reassuring back-up for the professional where weight and amount of equipment is an issue

Stunning image quality
I bought this camera (in white) with both zoom and 22mm pancake lens, as a small camera to keep in my handbag when I didn't want to carry the 5d MkIII with me. My main interests are macro, wildlife and landscapes, but I use the camera for all purposes, whenever I see something that needs capturing. The build quality is absolutely superb - it just feels beautiful with the shiny white finish. The controls are very easy to get to grips with if you already use a Canon SLR. The touch screen is excellent, and the ability to select autofocus by touching screen is brilliant and works very well. Exposure compensation is easy to use, unlike on many cameras. Has all the relevant manual control modes, as well as in-camera HDR which produces good, natural-looking results in backlit situations. The auto focus is a bit slow compared with the SLR, but it isn't catastrophically slow. I wouldn't use it for sports photography, but don't need to and it is perfectly adequate for candid portraits, capturing wildlife, and landscapes. It is faster than my Fuji X100.In low light it works well, as does the little flash, which I also carry to use with my 5D3 as a fill flash when I don't want to cart around a big flash gun.But the shining star is the image quality from this sensationally-good 22mm lens. It is honestly totally first-class. I really can't distinguish it from my L-series glass. It is a decent macro lens too, with a 15cm close focal distance, and produces decent bokeh and separation of subject from background. It will certainly do when I've left the big macro lens at home. The adapter works well too, and this gives me a back-up body for the 5d3 - just in case anything should happen. The lack of viewfinder doesn't bother me as the camera is light and easy to hold away from the body.If you want to follow fast-paced action, this isn't the camera for you. For those who love high quality images, this absolutely is the camera to have. Honsetly, it is superb.
Mirrorless wonder - Try it and see

The fact that I can use all my ef L series lenses from EOS5D2 and EFS lenses from EOS50D make this a great additional camera for travel, although the adapter makes the lens a little bulky, with the right ones it is fun and easy to carry. Picture quality exceptional, the little 90EX flash is adequate for small events, having a hotshoe also makes it useful for the studio and using studio lighting. I haven't used the amera in bright light so not really sure if the screen alone will be bright enough on those few sunny days, an electronic viewfinder would be most useful. As a comparison I bought my wife a Sony Nex 5 with additional lens kits and the Canon leaves it in a cloud of dust for picture quality, video ease of use and just about everything else.
Achieves its objectives of being light, and easy to use. Images are in general promising, though the quality in association with longer lenses is less certain. The high ISO (up to 12800) has produced good results where indoor flashless photos are used.

Canon's lost opportunity!
By Reed In'jun
Long awaited APS mirrorless compact, but designed by non-photographer - what a disappointment! This camera was bought for my travels and in circumstances when use of DSLR is not allowed for being accused of being a pro. With a little thought Canon could have stollen the march from its rivals: Magnesium Alloy body, EVF, weather sealing, etc. I can see a Mark 2 being released with these or some redesign features. I have been a Canon user for some years, and this camera is a great disappointment. However, the redeeming features are the excellent IS and Touch Sensitive Screen, plus good quality images. In addition, the use of EFS and EF lenses via an adaptor with full electronic functionality is certainly a good design move by Canon.EOS-M has been released with built-in obsolescence in mind: Not certain if I shall upgrade to EOS-M 2!
