For the Canon EOS D30, D60, 350D, 400D, 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 60D 5D/MkII, 1D/MkII/MkIIN and the 1DS/MkII, the EX-EP15 Eyepiece Extender extends the camera's viewfinder by 15mm, thus bridging the gap between your eye and the viewfinder. This allows operation of the viewfinder without the needing to press closely to the back of the camera and is more comfortable to use. The viewfinder extender also reduces the image size, which can be useful in assisting composition.
Please note: this will not fit the EOS 450D, 500D or 1000D.

Comments about Canon Eyepiece Extender EP-EX15:
Not suitable with Canon EOS 700D as it blocks the sensor for the rear screen turning it off. It is to high and I am going to see about modifying it to get it to work
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Professional
Recommended for spectacle wearers and helps keep nose prints off rear LCD display
Not exactly life changing
As I now prefer to wear glasses when shooting (seeing is a bonus) I thought this would be a useful bit of kit. It works fine. But I didn't find it provided much benefit for me whilst shooting a wedding. With strong overhead sunlight there was quite a lot of glare reflecting on the back surface of the extender. Without glasses this wasn't a problem as I could get my face close enough to block the sunlight. I've have a 'distinguished' nose so I did notice a small improvement in comfort provided by the extra gap between view finder and back of camera. The magnification didn't really seem to have much effect one way or the other for the kind of shooting I do. The exposure info in the view finder seemed a tiny bit smaller but I could still read it ok. All in all, I'm not sure this will change your [photography] life dramatically. However, for the time being, I'm leaving it attached to my 5Dmkii.

Very useful piece of kit

About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Very useful as a way of extending the eyepiece away from the back of the camera. It does require the existing eyepiece to be used as well - I bought it because my current eyepiece had broken and wouldn't stay on properly. Should have read up more about it first - my fault!! Worth knowing though.
Bought it to save the LCD screen from being scratched by my glasses frames. But the real improvement is a subtle compositional effect; no more hunting round to see the corners of the viewfinder. This sounds back to front, after wanting bigger viewfinders. But the smaller image is easier to see all at once. It's a more "stand back from it" effect; less detail, more about composition. I like it.My only worry is clouting it on something as I carry the camera. It mounts over a very thin rim of the viewfinder surround. I make an effort to remember it is sticking out of the back of the camera body.
It keeps nose & face off the screen
It's good for the wife with glasse or me without
every one should have one

no more squashed nose or damaged LCD screen best accessory for the digital camera.
A must for spectacle wearers
from Peterborough UK
Got this for an EOS 50D and it was very easy to fit once I worked out how to remove the eyepeice. The extra distance from the back of the camera means it's a lot more comfortable to look through the viewfinder when wearing glasses although I do find it makes it a little harder to see all the shooting information displayed in the 'finder whilst still seeing the full image frame. If you wear glasses and have a compatible canon camera then you should definitely get one of these.
Practical and valuable accessory
from London, UK
The Canon Eyepiece Extender EP-EX15 makes long photo shoot's much more comfortable, improving the comfort of framing shots, and allowing framing more quickly without pressing one's face against the LCD screen resulting in continuous smearing.
Very useful purchase
from Stoke-on-Trent, UK
This little item is a must for spectacle wearers. I always had a slight problem viewing the whole viewfinder when using my DSLR this little and inexpensive item solved that problem. When fitted which is very easy it slightly shrinks the viewfinder image plus brings the eye 15mm back from the body of the camera. Instead of having to move my eye around to get all the information in the viewfinder, i put the camera to my eye and all the information is there as a whole leaving me to concentrate on getting the photograph. An excellent purchase.
