Good prints, could be more robust.
About Me Quality Oriented
Comments about Epson Stylus Pro 3880 Printer:
There's no doubting this is a capable machine, the prints are of very good quality and the paper handling works very well with everything except canvas and I'm told that's common with most machines in this class so can't complain really. It's a big machine but it prints quite large so needs to be but the construction is a little on the light side for my liking, this printer is aimed as professional medium format users and it isn't cheap so I'd have expected thicker plastics, a better finish, and generally a more robust feeling machine. I'm expecting the paper trays and door to wobble of and break every time I used them...
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great Printer - But it needs regular use
This is a great printer producing stunning prints and it has worked fine for 2 years. However, I went 2 months without printing anything due to some family issues and went to print a wedding shoot. Purchased a complete set of ink cartridges (£350) and disaster, I had banding plus the rollers were removing ink intermittently from the prints. Nozzle check indicated a number of missing squares. Copious head cleans and nozzle cleans managed to clean the majority of colours except LLK which was completely blank. Took it to Epson service centre and they have performed numerous deep commercial cleans but still the same result. Resolution - it now requires a new printhead (£400) … so with the brand new ink set I am £750 in the hole! Decision - forget it, I will buy a new printer!!! Let me reiterate, this is a fantastic printer and it would get a 5 star rating from me however, given my experience, it needs regular use (which was qualified by the Epson service centre)! Wex certainly get a 5 star as always!
An absolute joy
By Sir Reginald
I have had this printer for over a year now and it has been an absolute joy. Right now I am printing my Christmas cards but most of the time I do A2 prints, which are stunning. The ink cartridges seem to last forever, which is just as well - it's actually very economical, but A2 is a big area, so I leave wide margins...
Many thanks :)
Great printer, quiet operation, great prints, large array of paper sizes.Big thank you to Wex for next day service, and for f.o.c paper pack as one was damaged in the corner, simple call and new pack also sent next day.Great service and thanks from a 1st time buyer at Wex.Regards, Arthur.

Handsome and quiet

About Me Quality Oriented, Value Oriented
It's great to have a printer that can switch internally between photo black and matt black. Although it's A2, it is only marginally bigger than my old A3 printer.I find it a little muddling, choosing all the options when I try to select the paper that I am using.
Top notch pro printer
About Me Professional photographer, Quality Oriented
I bought this printer 4 years ago and it has never let me down. It produces superb quality prints on all kinds of paper from basic glossy photo paper to fine art papers. The initial purchase price was quite high, but the large ink tanks has made it very economical to run compared to smaller inkjet printers. I have produced many hundreds of prints from this printer and each turns out as good as the last one.

The paper type and quality is really highlighted with this quality of printer. If its worth printing then be sure to spend a little extra on the right paper. The prints will amaze you!
You pay for what you get
Excellent product. Print quality is superb. the paper guides are constructed of relatively light plastic, but have had no problems with this. Still getting used to the settings.
Excellent printer that fits on my desk
from North Wales
Used it to produce images in size from 6 by 4 up to A2 images to be used for a range of situations. For Photo quality so far I have printed on Epson gloss and Hahnemulle matt fine art papers the paper maker's profiles for the printer work well. Very pleased with the results so far. No problems with set up, clogs or paper feed.
