The Fujifilm X-Pro1 is a highly advanced mirror-less Camera that features an X lens mount to allow the use of Fuji's new X range of compact lenses. What's more is the addition of a newly developed 16 megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor which is capable of delivering resolution that is parallel to a full-frame sensor. The retro, solid design of the X-Pro 1 includes a textured rubberised hand grip and a convenient Hybrid Multi Viewfinder which allows you to instantly switch between an Optical Viewfinder (OVF) and an Electronic Viewfinder (EVF). Choose the view that suits your style of shooting, the OVF provides a bright image with minimal shutter lag and the EVF presents you with information such as the exposure, white balance, and depth of field indicators for quick manual adjustments. The X-Pro1 also includes an ISO range from 100-25,600, Full Manual control, Continuous shooting of up to 6fps, RAW + JPEG shooting and a powerful EXR processor. More
January 2012 - "Since the Fuji X100 was launched to an incredible response over a year ago, the question on many people’s lips has been: when will the X-series add an interchangeable lens camera to its lineup? Well it’s here and it’s more than just an interchangeable lens version of the X100, it’s an impressive camera in its own right. " Read more about the Fujifilm X-Pro1 here...
Fujifilm is pleased to announce another firmware update for the Fujifilm X-Pro1, designed to improve performance and enhance the users operability and functionality.

Hybrid Multi Viewfinder
Featuring the freedom to switch between an optical and electronic viewfinder, the Hybrid Viewfinder has evolved to meet the challenge of interchangeable lenses. When an XF series lens is mounted, lens data are communicated to X-Pro1, and viewfinder magnification (2 types) and frame size (multiple steps) are automatically switched. Peering through the viewfinder with all your attention focused on the subject. This simple style of shooting is the both the first step back to the essential pleasure of photography. Every lens change reveals a new world of beauty to capture.
Moiré is tackled at its root cause by the revolutionary X-Trans CMOS sensor's color filter array. By enhancing aperiodicity (randomness) in the array arrangement, the color filter minimizes generation of both moiré and false colors, eliminating the necessity for an optical low-pass filter in the lens and enabling X-Trans CMOS sensor to capture full “unfiltered” lens performance.
The EXR Processor Pro is supported by an integrated co-processor for higher speed and higher precision image processing performance.
Designed especially for the X-Pro1, the FUJINON XF Lens series promises enhanced resolution and light volume in image edge areas as well as reduced chromatic aberration for exceptional image quality. Featuring an all-glass aspherical lens and other elements, the lens is polished to perfection and treated with Super EBC coating. Holding the high-quality metal barrel and operating the precision-machined 1/3-step aperture ring is a sensation that fires the desire to capture every scene. For photographers who seek the peak of photographic excellence, FUJIFILM raises the curtain on a new era of interchangeable lenses and unveils a premium lineup of 3 single-focal length lenses.
Taking full advantage of the mirrorless design, the mount boasts a short 17.7mm flange back distance, a wider opening and deeper mounting of the lens, resulting in reduction of back focus distance to the minimum possible while achieving high resolution extending to the image edge areas. When a FUJINON XF lens is mounted, all lens information is instantly communicated to the body, integrating them into a seamless, responsive instrument.

Stunning IQ and so simple to use.

Comments about Fuji X-Pro1 Black Digital Camera Body:
I have changed to the XP1 for the lighter system compared to my old D7000. I have shoulder disabilities and I am ambulant disabled and I needed something lighter. The ease of use of the camera for settings is the best I have used compared to Nikon, Cannon & Panasonic cameras I have bought and tried to suit my needs. The high ISO shooting and low lighting has produced some great results. In fact they have been outstanding.Due to my disabilities I have replaced the 18mm with the 16-50 for the OIS and my free lens (60mm) I sold to fund the 35mm & 55-200mm lenses. I wanted the 55-200 again for the OIS and I wanted the 35mm to make it a more pocketable camera. My initial doubts I had of using the primes without the OIS has been unfounded whilst using the 35mm over the last couple of weeks. From this I think I can manage the primes and will probably purchase some more when funds allow. This is probably down to the lighter system as I had poor results using my nifty on the D7000. My only disappointment has been the need to use the zooms in EVF mode. I find this causes me some eye problems/strain, it feels as if I have mild arc eye when using this mode. I will takes this up with my optician, I may buy a Diopter (spl) and see if this can be coated to reduce glare from EVF. No problems with OVF with primes.I have uploaded a couple of snap shots, I have better but they are to large to upload.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Professional
Couldn't pass up the deal from wex. Have been looking at this camera for some time and wasn't disappointed with it. Have shot my first wedding with it and am astounded at the quality of the images.
Great camera with crisp images

Using the X-Pro1 as my more every day camera/lighter travel camera. The camera is a quality piece of kit and the produces excellent, sharp and good colour pictures. I have used this camera indoors taking pictures of the kids, outdoors for general and traveling with me. Overall the pictures re outstanding, but I am still getting use to the configure and finding what works for me best. In comparison to my 6D it keeps up on most fronts, just a bit of shutterlag/autofocus speed, but not a big issue for the main uses. I must say the 18mm & 35mm are both excellent lenses and you can get some great portrait style picture with nice bokeh.Overall a worthy companion when I don't want to take the 6D out with me.
Reommended traditional camera.
A camera for those who like cameras with direct access dials to the main photographic parameters. Superb optical/electronic viewfinder. All this in a very well built, light body.
Quality without the weight
It has become my 'put a camera in my bag to take with me' camera. When the operational speed of my DSLRs are not required this has become my camera of choice. Body and 3 lenses in less space than one of my DSLRs with a 24-70 F2.8 zoom. Also much lighter and more discrete. The EVF is a mixed thing for me, some likes and some dislikes. I do find the exposure compensation control to be too easy to adjust accidentally.

E xcellent carry around camera. A joy to use
Best camera I have owned!
About Me Casual User, Getting Started, Hobbyist/Enthusiast
I mainly use my cameras for taking pictures of my children in and around the house, and out and about on days out. Having tried plenty of cameras over the years, the Fuji X-Pro 1 gives me everything I need, in a relatively small body. I have previously owned the X100, and I loved having the controls at your fingertips, however, I did feel constrained as you are unable to change lenses on the X100. So, this is the best of both worlds. Put this camera together with the 35mm lens, and the photos are amazing. The 18-55mm lens also produces great pictures, although that does make the camera fairly heavy. Overall I would recommend this to anyone.
Pro-quality camera through and through
About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast, Semi-Professional
Purchased the XP1 as an alternative to my Canon DSLR. After having had the Fuji for only two weeks, I am unlikely to pick up my Canon again. Sharpness, colour rendition, ease of use and lens quality are all exceptional. Fuji have responded to early criticism and the latest firmware upgrade has in my humble opinion re-established the XP1 as one of the best CSC's on the market.
X Pro1 gets even better
Fuji listens and then acts. The firmware updates have made this a true professional camera that is just waiting for you to use and learn its qualities. It is not a DSLR but its image quality is right up there with the best. Learn how to use it and you will not be disappointed. The images are great.
