The Fuji X-Pro1 is a highly advanced mirror-less camera that features a newly developed 16 megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor which is capable of delivering resolution that is parallel to a full-frame sensor. The solid, retro design of the Fuji X-Pro1 includes a textured rubberised hand grip and a convenient Hybrid Multi Viewfinder which allows you to instantly switch between an Optical Viewfinder (OVF) and an Electronic Viewfinder (EVF). Choose the view to suit your style of shooting - the OVF provides a bright image with minimal shutter lag and the EVF presents you with information such as the exposure, white balance, and DOF indicators for quick manual adjustments. The Fuji X-Pro1 also includes an ISO range from 100-25,600, Manual control, Continuous shooting of up to 6fps, RAW + JPEG shooting and a powerful EXR processor. More
January 2012 - "Since the Fuji X100 was launched to an incredible response over a year ago, the question on many people’s lips has been: when will the X-series add an interchangeable lens camera to its lineup? Well it’s here and it’s more than just an interchangeable lens version of the X100, it’s an impressive camera in its own right. " Read more about the Fujifilm X-Pro1 here...
Fuji Hybrid Multi Viewfinder
Featuring the freedom to switch between an optical and electronic viewfinder, the Hybrid Viewfinder has evolved to meet the challenge of interchangeable lenses. When an XF series lens is mounted, lens data are communicated to X-Pro1, and viewfinder magnification (2 types) and frame size (multiple steps) are automatically switched. Peering through the viewfinder with all your attention focused on the subject. This simple style of shooting is the both the first step back to the essential pleasure of photography. Every lens change reveals a new world of beauty to capture.
Fuji X-Trans CMOS
Moiré is tackled at its root cause by the revolutionary X-Trans CMOS sensor's color filter array. By enhancing aperiodicity (randomness) in the array arrangement, the color filter minimizes generation of both moiré and false colors, eliminating the necessity for an optical low-pass filter in the lens and enabling X-Trans CMOS sensor to capture full “unfiltered” lens performance.
The EXR Processor Pro is supported by an integrated co-processor for higher speed and higher precision image processing performance.
Fuji XF Lens
Designed especially for the X-Pro1, the FUJINON XF Lens series promises enhanced resolution and light volume in image edge areas as well as reduced chromatic aberration for exceptional image quality. Featuring an all-glass aspherical lens and other elements, the lens is polished to perfection and treated with Super EBC coating. Holding the high-quality metal barrel and operating the precision-machined 1/3-step aperture ring is a sensation that fires the desire to capture every scene. For photographers who seek the peak of photographic excellence, FUJIFILM raises the curtain on a new era of interchangeable lenses and unveils a premium lineup of 3 single-focal length lenses.
Fuji X Mount
Taking full advantage of the mirrorless design, the mount boasts a short 17.7mm flange back distance, a wider opening and deeper mounting of the lens, resulting in reduction of back focus distance to the minimum possible while achieving high resolution extending to the image edge areas. When a FUJINON XF lens is mounted, all lens information is instantly communicated to the body, integrating them into a seamless, responsive instrument.

Comments about Fuji X-Pro1 Black Digital Camera Body:
It's a toss up between the X-Pro1 and the X-t10 as to which is my favourite camera. The Pro1 is a better size and more comfortable to hold, but you may need to but another lens for the evf if the standard one doesn't suit. The quick menu button is in the wrong place and I find I often accidently press it when holding the camera vertically. Apart from that, everything else is spot on.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Fuji X Pro 1
from St.Helens, Merseyside
Since buying the Fuji X pro 1 I have not used my Canon 7d at all, I carry the Fuji camera with me at all times. I find it very easy to carry around it is fairly light compared to my Canon therefore no aches and pains in the shoulder. The Fuji fitted with the 18mm lens is brilliant for landscapes and travel, I also enjoy using it to take images of my grandchildren because they allow me to get in close. The resolution is brilliant, Low light work is excellent with the F2 aperture. I have used this camera up to 1000 ISO with no apparent noise in my images. One problem, I Cannot put the camera down. You will need a spare battery if your out using the camera for some time, but that depends on how you use the camera.
Wanted a CSC, (DSLR req support due to handshake). I have an Fuji X10 which is good & I like the retro feel of the Fujis. With this X-Pro 1, I can confidently handhold @ a 30th sec & still get decent image quality. Very impressed so far.The only downside has been the lack of the dioptre adjustment wheel found near the viewfinder on modern cameras. Reverting to need a screw in lens to make the viewfinder sharp is perhaps a touch too retro! (especially when they are not available so far)!Bought in May 2015 & downloaded updates.
I wish I had a camera like this years ago

The quality of image is fantastic, for me as a keen landscape/abstract photographer this camera is what I've needed all my photographing years. Small'ish, lightweight, with quick intuitive settings - the white balance graph permanently on screen is particularly useful when using the +/- half stop jog wheel (right where it should be, where ones thumb sits naturally when holding a camera) - it's a great point and shoot camera. With a quick look at the readings on the large screen to check all's looking fine one can move on to the next location knowing that when you get home and download you've got it in the can. I love the 'film simulation' types, one can choose from standard colour, or vibrant Velvia and two excellent B&W settings for landscapes or simulated yellow filtered B&W (amongst others). If you've been wondering about this camera for a while - as I had - don't worry just go for it, I don't think you'll regret it. I must add I'm not an 'action' photographer and haven't put it though its paces on fast moving objects so I can't comment its abilities here.

Great alternative to carrying a DSLR, within limits.

About Me Semi-Professional
I bought this camera as an alternative to carrying a DSLR around on holiday and with the family, but I wanted the image quality and choice of lenses to equal a DSLR. While the X-Pro 1 does have its limitations such as slower AF it is capable of great image quality for a range of uses. The controls are a small learning curve, but pretty much every digital camera follows a similar set of buttons, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend this to someone just after a point and shoot, manual control does dominate the use. It's size is fine, it's very similar in size to an old Pentax K1000 but lighter. Fuji lenses are great.

About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast, Photographing For50years
I grew up with optical viewfinders and this camera has a very good one.You can set the ASA level and the f number to limit the depth of field and the speed if you need to. It is very well built.
Stop and think about your photography.
About Me Casual User, Getting Started, Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Just got back from my first big weekend with this camera, absolutely love it. I didn't buy it to "point and shoot" i bought it to try something a little different. Sure, it has its limitations with tracking focus etc, but that just makes you think more about each image capture / zone focussing etc.it has truly made me reconsider how i take photographs.
Amazing quality all round

About Me Professional
Excellent image quality and a build quality that many manufacturers have forgotten existed. A Nikon user for over 20 years I'm now jumping ship to Fuji. Also, the change to lighter weight kit is doing my back no end of good!
