The Fujifilm X-Pro1 is a highly advanced mirror-less Camera that features an X lens mount to allow the use of Fuji's new X range of compact lenses. What's more is the addition of a newly developed 16 megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor which is capable of delivering resolution that is parallel to a full-frame sensor. The retro, solid design of the X-Pro 1 includes a textured rubberised hand grip and a convenient Hybrid Multi Viewfinder which allows you to instantly switch between an Optical Viewfinder (OVF) and an Electronic Viewfinder (EVF). Choose the view that suits your style of shooting, the OVF provides a bright image with minimal shutter lag and the EVF presents you with information such as the exposure, white balance, and depth of field indicators for quick manual adjustments. The X-Pro1 also includes an ISO range from 100-25,600, Full Manual control, Continuous shooting of up to 6fps, RAW + JPEG shooting and a powerful EXR processor. More
January 2012 - "Since the Fuji X100 was launched to an incredible response over a year ago, the question on many people’s lips has been: when will the X-series add an interchangeable lens camera to its lineup? Well it’s here and it’s more than just an interchangeable lens version of the X100, it’s an impressive camera in its own right. " Read more about the Fujifilm X-Pro1 here...
Fujifilm is pleased to announce the release later this month of new firmware for the Fujifilm X-Pro1, designed to improve performance and enhance the users’ photographic experience.

Hybrid Multi Viewfinder
Featuring the freedom to switch between an optical and electronic viewfinder, the Hybrid Viewfinder has evolved to meet the challenge of interchangeable lenses. When an XF series lens is mounted, lens data are communicated to X-Pro1, and viewfinder magnification (2 types) and frame size (multiple steps) are automatically switched. Peering through the viewfinder with all your attention focused on the subject. This simple style of shooting is the both the first step back to the essential pleasure of photography. Every lens change reveals a new world of beauty to capture.
Moiré is tackled at its root cause by the revolutionary X-Trans CMOS sensor's color filter array. By enhancing aperiodicity (randomness) in the array arrangement, the color filter minimizes generation of both moiré and false colors, eliminating the necessity for an optical low-pass filter in the lens and enabling X-Trans CMOS sensor to capture full “unfiltered” lens performance.
The EXR Processor Pro is supported by an integrated co-processor for higher speed and higher precision image processing performance.
Designed especially for the X-Pro1, the FUJINON XF Lens series promises enhanced resolution and light volume in image edge areas as well as reduced chromatic aberration for exceptional image quality. Featuring an all-glass aspherical lens and other elements, the lens is polished to perfection and treated with Super EBC coating. Holding the high-quality metal barrel and operating the precision-machined 1/3-step aperture ring is a sensation that fires the desire to capture every scene. For photographers who seek the peak of photographic excellence, FUJIFILM raises the curtain on a new era of interchangeable lenses and unveils a premium lineup of 3 single-focal length lenses.
Taking full advantage of the mirrorless design, the mount boasts a short 17.7mm flange back distance, a wider opening and deeper mounting of the lens, resulting in reduction of back focus distance to the minimum possible while achieving high resolution extending to the image edge areas. When a FUJINON XF lens is mounted, all lens information is instantly communicated to the body, integrating them into a seamless, responsive instrument.

About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Comments about Fuji X-Pro1 Black Digital Camera Body:
In wealthier days I had three (film) Leicas - M7 & MP - and several top lenses, and thought they were fantastic. Got rid, because of the hassle of film developing and scanning, On retirement bought an XPro-1 and three lenses. Hate to say it, but I prefer it! The Fuji takes a bit of learning, you do need to work at it, but there are regular firmware upgrades to improve the performance. You should apply these, with a full battery! I wouldn't use it for pro sport photos, but it is not meant for that. Pictures are very impressive, but the best thing is the low-light performance. I remember many years ago when 400ASA (sorry, I mean ISO) was high - 800 with push processing. It has taken getting used to, but I now set it at around 2000+ for night shots: they are fantastic, much better than a lesser camera with flash! Not yet used RAW, that is the only issue I have found, but high-res jpegs are excellent, little noise. Lenses are superb and I've just got the 18-55 zoom. Sorry to say it's now virtually the only lens I use.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Fuji X Pro-1
By College Lecturer
This camera produces images that are the equal of those produced by the best film camera. Their natural transparent quality may be due in part to the absence of a Bayer filter in the camera and some superb lenses.
Great retro camera

About Me Professional
This is camera that you need to get to know. Once you are there it produces great results. It compliments my Nikon D700 and replaces my D200 as a back up for location work and street photography. Some of the bits are flimsy like the lens cap on the 35mm lens, I have already lost the rubber cap for the lens hood. My biggest irritation is that the camera has the habit of turning itself on when putting it away, needs a lock on the switch. [...]

A camera that challenges and delivers
from Abergavenny, Wales
Like many photographers I have found my DSLRS rather heavy and bulky and have sought for a lighter, more compact camera without sacrificing image quality. The X Pro 1 is an excellent solution. The image quality is outstanding and its ability to capture low light scenes gives a flexibility which is appreciated. The X Pro 1 reminds me of earlier film cameras I had with its dials and viewfinder. It is a beautiful camera which although retrospective in appearance is a mighty technological beast inside and its electronic and optical viewfinders are clear and informative and add greatly to its performance. I have been using the X Pro 1 for only a short time but the camera is definitely growing on me. You need to think with this camera and constantly assess all elements of photography - light, depth of field, motion - to achieve good results because the camera is not designed for point and shoot. However if you treat it with respect it will reward you with some superb pictures. Hopefully I will become a better photographer with the X Pro 1 because I need to think, see, compose and then shoot and let the camera do the rest.

I have spent the last 3 months reading reviews on most top end cameras as I wanted to make the right decision. My previous camera being a Canon 50D with L series glass. How does it compare? The Fuji is on a different planet. Image quality is that good that after attending a local event the other day I have been informed to do it professionally by many of the people I came into contact with... Just wish I had charged for all the images e-mailed to them. Bottom line. Am I happy with this camera? 100%. So ok it has a few niggles but believe me you don't even notice them when the end product is on print. Seeing is believing
Excellent quality great lenses. Menus are pretty easy, I like it a lot.

For the past 3 months i have read virtually every review of cameras on the market. My original purchase was going to be the 5D mark111. The only drawback was the bulk as i know owning the 50d plus L series glass felt like a ball and chain round your neck at the end of the day. So i took the plunge and opted for something different...Do i regret the purchase of the Fuji and the 35mm lens? DO I HELL. The IQ is on a different planet. The system itself speaks quality. Yes there are a few little niggles but these are already being sorted but what camera doesn't have issues at launch? I've only had the camera 1 day..set on auto..jpeg. Need to read the manual, but trust me the images will blow your socks off..

I bought the Fuji X pro 1 to replace my back up SLR, to have a much more portable system to catch those unplanned moments and use for family. My primary concern is image quality, and wow the X-Pro 1 and 35mm lens does not disappoint. It certainly isn't as quick to focus as an SLR or some of the other rival mirror less systems, but for me a small camera that rivals and even supersedes my primary work horse Canon 5dmk 2 for resolving detail and sharpness is a win win. The view finder is a refreshing change to my photographic experience but takes a little time getting used to, I recommend switching to the digital view finder when photographing things closer up or when focusing conditions are tricky for the viewfinder to pick up.This camera goes with me now on most days out and it's brought the joy back in photography, partly because it's soooo much easier to fling round my shoulder than my lovely but very heavy SLR kit. It's also very nicely retro styled, especially when combined with the Fuji leather case. It's hard not to become attached to this lovely little gem of a camera, just don't expect it to rush into focus for you, rather enjoy and savour the romance of what it is, a beautiful little machine, with stunning qualities.
