The Fujifilm X-Pro1 is a highly advanced mirror-less Camera that features an X lens mount to allow the use of Fuji's new X range of compact lenses. What's more is the addition of a newly developed 16 megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor which is capable of delivering resolution that is parallel to a full-frame sensor. The retro, solid design of the X-Pro 1 includes a textured rubberised hand grip and a convenient Hybrid Multi Viewfinder which allows you to instantly switch between an Optical Viewfinder (OVF) and an Electronic Viewfinder (EVF). Choose the view that suits your style of shooting, the OVF provides a bright image with minimal shutter lag and the EVF presents you with information such as the exposure, white balance, and depth of field indicators for quick manual adjustments. The X-Pro1 also includes an ISO range from 100-25,600, Full Manual control, Continuous shooting of up to 6fps, RAW + JPEG shooting and a powerful EXR processor. More

January 2012 - "Since the Fuji X100 was launched to an incredible response over a year ago, the question on many people’s lips has been: when will the X-series add an interchangeable lens camera to its lineup? Well it’s here and it’s more than just an interchangeable lens version of the X100, it’s an impressive camera in its own right. " Read more about the Fujifilm X-Pro1 here...
Hybrid Multi Viewfinder
Featuring the freedom to switch between an optical and electronic viewfinder, the Hybrid Viewfinder has evolved to meet the challenge of interchangeable lenses. When an XF series lens is mounted, lens data are communicated to X-Pro1, and viewfinder magnification (2 types) and frame size (multiple steps) are automatically switched. Peering through the viewfinder with all your attention focused on the subject. This simple style of shooting is the both the first step back to the essential pleasure of photography. Every lens change reveals a new world of beauty to capture.
Moiré is tackled at its root cause by the revolutionary X-Trans CMOS sensor's color filter array. By enhancing aperiodicity (randomness) in the array arrangement, the color filter minimizes generation of both moiré and false colors, eliminating the necessity for an optical low-pass filter in the lens and enabling X-Trans CMOS sensor to capture full “unfiltered” lens performance.
The EXR Processor Pro is supported by an integrated co-processor for higher speed and higher precision image processing performance.
Designed especially for the X-Pro1, the FUJINON XF Lens series promises enhanced resolution and light volume in image edge areas as well as reduced chromatic aberration for exceptional image quality. Featuring an all-glass aspherical lens and other elements, the lens is polished to perfection and treated with Super EBC coating. Holding the high-quality metal barrel and operating the precision-machined 1/3-step aperture ring is a sensation that fires the desire to capture every scene. For photographers who seek the peak of photographic excellence, FUJIFILM raises the curtain on a new era of interchangeable lenses and unveils a premium lineup of 3 single-focal length lenses.
Taking full advantage of the mirrorless design, the mount boasts a short 17.7mm flange back distance, a wider opening and deeper mounting of the lens, resulting in reduction of back focus distance to the minimum possible while achieving high resolution extending to the image edge areas. When a FUJINON XF lens is mounted, all lens information is instantly communicated to the body, integrating them into a seamless, responsive instrument.

Remarkable camera that captures my life.

About Me Casual User, Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Comments about Fuji X-Pro1 Black Digital Camera Body:
The more I use it the more uses I find for it. I attended a recreation of Joan of Arc, burning at the stake, despite only owning the Pro 1 for a few hours, I was able to produce pictures that took several hours of software manipulations for my fellow Canon/Nikon users to equal. With either colour or black and white, the Pro 1 and it's prime lens' is a gem of a camera.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Superb - retro & lovely with it!

I used a film camera for 45 years, this is the 1st digital camera I have felt at home with. The lenses (18mm. & 35mm.) are wonderfully sharp I use it for general photography and can't fault it. Initially I turned the exposure compensation dial by mistake, haven't done it since, just unaccustomed to the layout.
The fun starts here.

A fantastic alternative to the DSLR
By M. Duck
I've owned this camera for two months now, and I'm finding it a delight to use. It isn't a DSLR, and needs a slightly different approach to get the best from it, but it's discreet, powerful and relatively lightweight and feels great in the hands.I'm looking forward to getting the hand grip in the future, but even without it's maneuverability is superb. The images it can produce are fantastic, and last but not least, it is a beautiful piece of kit.
Simply amazing, amazingly simple

I love this camera and am now a Fuji convert. I love the simplicity, once its properly set up. Its a joy to use, and image quality is exceptional. Goodbye Nikon.

Great build, beautiful image quality, feels good in the hand. Fuji offer excellent long term support with firmware updates.
Brings the enjoyment back to photography
By Red Setter
I find this a real boon after many years of using DSLRs where, frankly, the camera becomes almost too complicated to use to its fullest extent unless you are a pro using it on a daily basis. The X-Pro1 is a great camera in that it has a full range of settings and features but it somehow seems to take me back to my earlier days when I started taking pictures so that I feel freer to use the more complex settings or not and still get excellent results. It isn't small but certainly smaller than even the Canon 100D, about the smallest mirrored DSLR, and therefore lends itself to informal portraits, street photography, and travel shots, where you don't want the camera to be too obvious. But it also takes great landscapes, especially with the wider angle lenses. The images are very sharp and the wide apertures of the wide angle lenses mean you rarely need to use flash even in low light.
About Me Semi-Professional
At last a digital camera with real manual control that feels good to hold and use.

Stunning IQ and so simple to use.
I have changed to the XP1 for the lighter system compared to my old D7000. I have shoulder disabilities and I am ambulant disabled and I needed something lighter. The ease of use of the camera for settings is the best I have used compared to Nikon, Cannon & Panasonic cameras I have bought and tried to suit my needs. The high ISO shooting and low lighting has produced some great results. In fact they have been outstanding.Due to my disabilities I have replaced the 18mm with the 16-50 for the OIS and my free lens (60mm) I sold to fund the 35mm & 55-200mm lenses. I wanted the 55-200 again for the OIS and I wanted the 35mm to make it a more pocketable camera. My initial doubts I had of using the primes without the OIS has been unfounded whilst using the 35mm over the last couple of weeks. From this I think I can manage the primes and will probably purchase some more when funds allow. This is probably down to the lighter system as I had poor results using my nifty on the D7000. My only disappointment has been the need to use the zooms in EVF mode. I find this causes me some eye problems/strain, it feels as if I have mild arc eye when using this mode. I will takes this up with my optician, I may buy a Diopter (spl) and see if this can be coated to reduce glare from EVF. No problems with OVF with primes.I have uploaded a couple of snap shots, I have better but they are to large to upload.

Couldn't pass up the deal from wex. Have been looking at this camera for some time and wasn't disappointed with it. Have shot my first wedding with it and am astounded at the quality of the images.
