I'd been looking at buying one of these for a long time, only being put off by what seemed like a high price. But a couple of weeks ago I took the plunge and can only say that I wish I'd bought one months ago.

The PO2 is beautifully made, which is typical of everything Kirk. It's not just good for macro-photography in the field, it's also a great substitute for a table-top tripod, with the right head and a 'Magic Arm'.

I really like the fact that the mount is rectangular, too. It makes the whole rig very stable, even with the longest/heaviest lenses. And because the long sides curve inwards, there's plenty of room for most pan and tilt bars, as well.

I've also bought a set of small rubber-wheeled casters which can quickly and simply replace the rubber feet when I'm working on a table-top.

All in all, this mount has become a key item in my kit. I really wouldn't be without it.
