Using the Nikon V1 with the attached FT-1 lens adapter with a 18-55mm DX and a 28 -300mm FX lens it was a fairly positive experience and the images where better than I imagined they would be. Shots were well saturated and surprisingly sharp with the lenses I used. Although good lighting conditions are essential when using the FT-1.
If the FT-1 was £100 cheaper I would recommend it to a friend but at current prices its hard to justify.

The FT1 adapter for the Nikon 1 series is excellent. The build quality is very good, on a level you'd expect for a Nikon lens costing as much, and my copy has worked flawlessly.

The main attraction of the adapter is that it provides full electronic aperture control and auto-focus with most Nikon lenses. You pay hansomely for the privilege, but you also have the opportunity to mount any number of Nikon lenses, whilst retaining autofocus, metering and on camera control.

Overall it is an excellent, if somewhat pricey adapter.

It is great option if you are looking to have a longer reach on your lenses, especially as the Nikon1's 2.7x crop factor will mean that the camera only uses the centre of any FT1 mounted lens and will thus provide the best possible image quality.
