Comments about X-Rite ColorMunki Photo:
I have had this ColorMunki Photo since October 2012, and I can't see me living without it now, I do know how I did before, but the paper manufacturers don't get so much money out of me now.It really is a fantastic device for profiling your Monitors and Printers, it can be a bit confusing profiling multiple monitors as you may think it is getting your monitor numbers wrong, it isn't, just follow the wizard, if it say that what you think is monitor "one" is its number "two" or "three" it is right, to prove it go to (This is on Windows) Control Panel> Colour Management and click on Identify monitors, and you will see it agrees with what ColorMunki says, don't confuse what control panel>display says or you graphics card manufacturers control app says, they are shifted around in software, Colour Management and ColorMunki are using you cards outputs, it outputs the correct profile to the correct monitor, it doesn't matter that you may shift around your screens, you can do that if you want, but you won't shift the profile for any of your monitors, they stay fixed, just TRUST ColorMunki.Like I have indicated, I think it is a brilliant device, and you can do more with it than just monitors and printers, you can profile your cameras as well, and take colour patch readings, it is a clever piece of kit.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Essential for color matching screen & printer
About Me Practical
Very necessery to watch the video- carefully and with full attention. The matching screen to printer (Canon A4) was not exact but a great improvement.I think its a printer limitation. The Epsom A2 printer 9 inks almost exact. So I deduce much depends on the printer that one is using.
I would recomend this product
The product downloaded on my Apple Mac & PC's without any problems except for Windows 7 which I finally gave up on despite a lot of very helpfull advice from the makers

Don't bother for mac with Canon
About Me Long Time Mac User, Tech Savvy
Just spent three 8-9 hour days, 50 plus sheets of glossy photo paper, 5 ink cartridges on the Mac Pro with a Canon Pixma MG5150. I'd like to continue to experiment with it to get it correct, but can;t afford to waste more days and countless packets of photo paper and inkStill have not got a printer profile that works. All created profiles are all worse than the Generic profiles or Printer Managed Colour. Not just slightly off but totally Off. I don't just mean a little colour cast, but brash colours, burnt out highlights, totally black dark areasThe instructions state you must turn off Colour management , but with the Canon Driver and Mac OS this is not possible. There is a work around to use generic RGB, but after three days of frustration, still no joy.Have removed and re installed all Canon and X-rite software twice.X-Rite Customer Service take control of the system via remote connection and confirmed I am not doing anything wrong. The device does not appear to be faulty, as it creates great screen profiles but printer profiling just does not work.Multiple Screen calibration not possible without a lot of hassle. you need to unplug each screen and connect it as primary display. it should work with multi displays but the app crashes if you try. CS say the next version is hoping to address this issueWith Wndows it may be a usable device, but Mac with a Canon driver..don't bother unless you have one of the top of the range imagePROGRAF series of printers.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Ihave used this to set correct colour on 4 computers, 2 printers and one projector. Very, very easy to use - software gives step by step instructions on screen and the computer (PC or Mac) knows if you make a minor mistake (such as moving a dial to the wrong position).
Good profiles but caused OS problems
By Cycling Photojournalist
About Me Tech Professional
Produced excellent monitor and paper profiles but caused problems with my OS. Using Mac 10.6.8 my system would not sleep automatically. This appears to be a common problem. XRite state on their website that a fix is being worked on but that was in 2009 still no upgrade.Luckily I have other profiling software that recognises ClorMunki as I had to delete XRite software to get my system back to normal.

X-Rite Colormunki Photo
About Me Novice, Practical
Seems to do everything it sets out too.The results using the standard printer profiles were much better. The custom profiles generated by the colormunki for my printer were off, the manufacturers profiles spot on.I think it maybe better to invest in your lighting for viewing pictures and colours.Having said all above I am new to Colour Management.I do not know if I would recommend to a friend at this moment in time.
from Hampshire England
Easy to use the ColorMunki Display is quick to calibrate monitors and profiles paper/ink/printer combinations very well.
does what it says
easy set up easy use nice bit of handy kit
"A long awaited answer to my problems"
By Tabula Coloris
I had been wasting a lot of time and resource trying to colour manage prints. Colourmunki provided more elements of control in the process from post camera to print. I am much less frustrated looking at my prints now than I have ever been, and it allows me to switch between papers very easily.
